Here's something you need to know:

You would not be who you are today without the stories you've heard or read or seen, and the beauty (or lack of beauty) you've experienced in your life.

Some of those stories and experiences affect us in good ways, and others... not so much.

What stories have shaped you?

Watch the video to learn more and dig deeper into how your experiences with beauty and story have affected the way you see yourself and the world.

See the whole series here.

I've been asking you what experiences with stories and beauty have had an impact on who you are today and creating these illustrations for them.

Here's the lineup so far (roundup blog post to follow once I've completed all the illustrations):

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe taught Christy B. "that adventure can be found in the most unlikely of places... ...and that while you may face consequences it is possible to recover from bad decisions..."⠀

The Call of the Wild

For Laura S., The Call of the Wild "was a book that inspired me as a young person that led to a better understanding of wild animals and how we need to protect their safety and existence."⠀

The Bridge to Terabithia

The Bridge to Terabithia taught Miki D. "the power of art and imagination and the power of being different."

Here's something you need to know:

You would not be who you are today without stories, beauty, and other people.

In the last video, we covered how stories and beauty become part of the story you tell yourself about the world and who you are in it. But how do other people impact your story?

And what if the story you tell yourself isn't true?

Watch the video above to learn more and dig deeper into how your family and others in your life impact your story.

Here's something you need to know:

The people in your life probably don't see themselves the way you do.

In the last video, we talked about how those around you shape your story. We've all become who we are today at least partially because someone amazing in our lives showed us something about ourselves, or the world, that has become part of our story today. But do they know it? Or are they stuck thinking of themselves as an extra in their own stories?

Watch this video to learn more about how women, especially, get stuck in the wrong stories... ... and what to do about it.
